Nominations are now open for the Southwest Showcase Awards!  Southwest Showcase offers two awards honoring those in the meeting planning community: the Industry Professional of the Year Award, and the Most Exciting Meeting Destination Change award.

The Industry Professional of the Year Award is open to both Planners and Suppliers. It recognizes an individual who has made an extraordinary personal or professional commitment that materially contributes to the advancement of the events industry.  The industry has been significantly influenced by their contributions. Criteria include being:

 

• Currently employed in the meetings industry 

• A member in good standing of at least one association affiliated with the industry

• Actively involved in the industry for a minimum of 10 years

• Demonstrates exemplary leadership abilities through the years

• Has served as a role model for others

The Most Exciting Meeting Destination Change Award recognizes any city, bureau, organization, group or company that has made a significant change to a destination of interest to the event industry. Eligibility includes:

 

• Hotels, resorts, cities, or an area within a city or county; among others; and

• Projects that have been largely completed in 2023 or 2024. 

• Nominations by members of any event-related association are welcome and all will be considered equally.
